Rosebud officially got its name on April 23, 1887. By 1892 the San Antonio and Aransas Pass Railway had built through Rosebud on its route from Waco to Giddings, and thereafter the town grew rapidly.
Today we are a rural town in the Texas blackland prairie with small town values and big city ideas.
We invite you to avoid the hassles of Interstate 35 to travel State Highway 77 & enjoy the charm and calm of rural Central Texas. We are within a leisurely 90 minutes or less from Austin, Waco, and Bryan/College Station. Come spend a day or more with us and you'll understand why we call Rosebud home!
